October is Safe Sleep for Babies Month
Babies sleep safest Alone, on their Back and in a Crib. Following these recommendations can significantly reduce your baby's risk of SIDS. While these rules are not always easy to follow, your baby’s safety is worth it.In October, Cradle Cincinnati and our partners are highlighting safe sleep through a number of initiatives:
- Through a new partnership with the Hamilton County Public Library, we’ll be distributing safe sleep book marks to all families with babies.
- Safe sleep billboards will be popping up in neighborhoods where the risk of sleep related infant deaths has historically been the greatest.
- New radio commercials promoting safe sleep will be on the air.
- Partnering with First Ladies for Health, we will be demonstrating safe sleep practices at more than 20 churches on October 9th.
- Greater Cincinnati Waterworks will be sending safe sleep flyers with this quarter’s water bills.
- Kroger will share safe sleep messaging in the baby food and diaper aisles at 10 local stores.
- We’ll be sharing local families’ successful (and safe) nightly sleep routines via social media. Join us with #safesleepABCs
