Did you know? The importance of birth spacing

Spacing is important. Waiting at least 12 months between pregnancies – from birth of one baby to conception of the next – lowers the risk of preterm birth, the leading cause of infant death locally. Mom’s body needs time to recover by replacing nutrients lost during pregnancy. We recently partnered with local filmmaker Kailah Ware to develop two short videos on the importance of birth spacing. As director, Kailah wanted to depict strong, intelligent women, who were aware of their body’s needs and felt empowered to take control of their body.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2VdoFiXEZsTo learn about family planning and women's health services in Hamilton County, call 211.
