Honoring Moms This Mother's Day
Our moms may live in the Queen City, but unfortunately not all of these mothers will be given their much-deserved tiara this Mother’s Day. What better time to let our moms know that they are loved, supported and appreciated than on their special day? Here’s how you can help Cradle Cincinnati honor our moms this Mother’s Day:Letters of Love Write a letter (or a few!) of encouragement to a new mom. These letters will be hand-delivered to mothers at their next prenatal appointment.Your letters can be as long or short as you want, as long as they are coming from the heart. You can include personal stories of encouragement and/or something that has encouraged you in the past (quotes, words of advice, pictures, etc.). If you are a mom, include a story about something you found to be particularly difficult during your pregnancy (postpartum depression, finding support, adjusting to the new lifestyle, etc) and how you overcame your struggle. Find sample letters here. You can email your letter to lettersoflove@cradlecincinnati.org or mail it to 3333 Burnet Avenue, MLC 7009, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.Community Baby Shower On May 7th, Cradle Cincinnati will be hosting a Community Baby Shower in partnership with UnitedHealthcare and Crossroad Health Center. All families with children under the age of one are welcome to join this fun and informative event featuring an infant CPR demonstration, safe sleep education, classic baby shower games, onesie decorating, and a cooking demonstration from WIC on how to make your own baby food. Food and child care will be provided. Our hope is that this baby shower will help moms feel celebrated this Mother’s Day weekend. To learn more about the Community Baby Shower, please email jessica.seeberger@cradlecincinnati.orgCincinnati’s moms deserve to be thanked for the extraordinary hard work and you can help them feel the love and support of their community this Mother’s Day.
