Price Hill is a great neighborhood, and together, we can make it even better.
The health of every baby, every mother, and every resident in Price Hill is affected by our neighborhood’s environment, opportunities, and experiences. Best Babies Zone (BBZ) believes that holistic neighborhood improvements – addressing education, health, business, and more – can strengthen our community’s health.That’s why we are launching mini-grant opportunities of up to $2,000 – to encourage resident-led and civic group improvement initiatives. We are looking to fund projects that build on the strengths of the Price Hill community, are inspired and led by the people who work and live in Price Hill, and will support improvement towards a stronger and healthier neighborhood . All projects must take place in Price Hill and focus on one of the following areas: 1) early childhood and adult learning, 2) physical and mental health, 3) community building, or 4) economic development.Proposal Eligibility: Funding is intended for resident-led, volunteer-driven groups or 501(c)3 organizations. Not all individuals from a group need to reside in Price Hill, but the work must take place there.Grants are available for the following types of projects and activities:Community Enhancement: To assist and encourage neighborhood-based organizations in making improvement of public spaces (streetscapes, parks, playgrounds, community gardens)Leadership and Capacity Building: To improve the capacity of organizations in addressing issues, improving conditions, and enhancing quality of life in Price HillEconomic Development: To provide financial assistance for local business developmentApplications are due by noon on Friday, October 31, 2014.
