Advisory board unanimously agrees on strategic direction

Our advisory board, a diverse group of health and civic leaders from our community, recently completed a strategic planning process and unanimously approved a path forward. If we want to become a community where every child reaches his or her first birthday, we must start by investing in three areas:

  • Improvements to our medical system.  Ensuring that all women get the very best care and reducing barriers that keep some women from getting care.
  • Public health messaging.  Effective public education campaigns, modeled after similar efforts that have worked in other communities, to empower families to keep their babies safe.
  • Community outreach. Probably the most important, we will involve the grassroots community to drive change from the bottom up.
