Committing to change as a county – Cradle Cincinnati’s shared beliefs
At a recent meeting, our advisory board established a statement of shared beliefs that will drive our work moving forward. These statements represent a common understanding of the complex problem of infant mortality and a shared commitment to change. This agreement forms the heart of our strategic plan and signifies an important shift in the way we address this issue. We are better and stronger together.
- Collective impact is the right model for success. No one organization can solve this alone.
- We place a high value on data. Ongoing investment will be shaped by what our data tells us.
- We believe that improvements in Spacing, Smoking and Sleep will improve our infant mortality rate.
- Quality improvement is a proven model for making systems change. We will use it to improve medical provider care across all partners.
- The community must be directly and actively involved. We will use a block model approach, driven by neighborhood leaders.
- Effective public health messaging can drive behavior change. Our messaging will focus on empowering families to make changes around Spacing, Smoking and Sleep.
- There is a need for more community health workers serving women in our community. We will advocate for increased investment in organizations already doing this well.
- A backbone organization is needed to drive and manage all of this activity. We will invest in staff infrastructure for Cradle Cincinnati.
- Each organization represented on our advisory board has an important role to play and is willing to be a part of a larger team focused on population level outcomes.
- Together, we can save the lives of babies in Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
